Donor Relations Manager

Normal Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Duties will require occasional evening and weekend hours in conjunction with Opera performance dates, donor events, and other related activities.

Portland Opera offers productions of the highest artistic quality, bringing the world of opera to the region. Over the past 52 years, the company has presented more than 200 operas, including world premieres. In addition to its annual season, the company is also renowned for its outreach and educational initiatives, including Portland Opera-To-Go, and its Resident Artists Program, which supports the next generation of professional opera singers



Portland Opera, one of the Northwest’s premiere arts organizations and nation’s leading opera companies, is seeking a fundraising superstar to join our dynamic development team as Donor Relations Manager.

The Donor Relations Manager leads several existing development efforts related to annual fund individual giving, corporate sponsorships and in-kind relationships, and U.S. Bank Broadway in Portland memberships. The Donor Relations Manager provides leadership and direction to the Portland Opera’s donor stewardship program, and conducts ongoing analyses of existing development programs.


This position requires a minimum five years of progressively responsible and successful experience with nonprofit fundraising, donor cultivation, and event planning and logistics. You must have a high degree of comfort communicating by telephone and in person to solicit both financial and in-kind donations. Professional demeanor, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a positive, collaborative team approach to work are essential.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database management software are required.

The ideal candidate will also have fundraising and development experience with performing arts organizations and familiarity with donor management software.
