Reports To: Director of Marketing, Communications and Sales
Normal Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Typical work week is 37.5 hours. Duties will require evening and weekend hours during performances and related events.

Portland Opera offers productions of the highest artistic quality, bringing the world of opera to the region. Over the past 50 years, the company has presented more than 200 operas, including world premieres. In addition to its opera annual season, the company is also renowned for its outreach and educational initiatives as well as its Resident Artists Program supporting the next generation of singers.

JOB SUMMARY

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Marketing and Digital Manager-Opera (MDM) develops integrated marketing plans, manages the day-to-day marketing activities for the annual subscription and single ticket sales campaigns, and leads comprehensive digital marketing efforts to drive audience engagement and ticket sales. The Marketing and Digital Manager also develops on-going marketing events to increase awareness of Portland Opera and our presence in the Portland arts and cultural community.

Candidates must have a minimum of 3-5 years full-time marketing management experience, advanced knowledge and experience in digital marketing, and a Bachelor’s degree or greater in marketing, communication or a related field.

Requirements for this position include exceptional project management skills, proven experience in marketing management and event marketing, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and database management software.

Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills, a results-driven, team approach to work, and the ability to handle competing deadlines and last-minute changes in a fast-paced working environment.   Knowledge of Archtics or Tessitura, and familiarity with performing arts marketing are both highly desirable. Agency experience preferred.
