Normal Hours: Typical hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week) Duties require some evening and weekend hours for Opera performances and Patron-related events

As part of the exciting growth we are experiencing with our 2018 season, we are seeking a vibrant and experienced account manager, familiar with corporate and group sales, to fill the newly created role of Patron Services Representative for Corporate and Group Sales.
Our patrons are not only donors, sponsors or audience members, but knowledgeable musical theatre lovers who engage and participate with us in a variety of ways. As Patron Services Representative for Corporate and Group Sales, you will be assigned a portfolio of Portland Opera’s group and corporate patrons and empowered to provide them with exceptional, concierge-style service.
Your mission is to engage with our patrons and delight them with opportunities that enhance their overall opera experiences and strengthen their loyalty to Portland Opera, as you achieve annual sales and subscriber retention goals.
To accomplish this task, you will work directly with the Patron Services Manager to set sales and retention targets and develop a detailed engagement and relationship-building plan for your patron portfolio. You will also collaborate with the External Affairs team to develop and manage defined group sales campaigns. Other responsibilities may be assigned as this position evolves.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- High quality sales, account management and customer service experience
- Experience setting and achieving annual sales and customer retention goals
- Polished and professional demeanor
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, collaborative team approach to work
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management software
- Background in corporate/group sales and account management
- Experience developing and managing in-kind partnerships
- Box Office and/or telemarketing experience
- A working knowledge of Ticketmaster or other integrated fundraising/ticketing system
- Familiarity and enthusiasm for musical theater, particularly opera
