Normal Hours: Typical hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (37.5 hours per week) Duties require some evening and weekend hours for Opera performances and Patron-related events

As part of the exciting growth we are experiencing with our 2018 season, Portland Opera is seeking an outstanding account management candidate with professional experience in Corporate and Group sales -and a reputation for excellent customer service- to fill our newly created position of Patron Services Representative for Corporate and Group Sales.
The Patron Service Representative for Corporate and Group Sales is responsible for engaging with our patrons and establishing relationships to enhance their experiences and build stronger loyalty to Portland Opera, meeting sales and subscriber retention goals, and developing new and existing in-kind partnerships.
As part of the newly created External Affairs division at Portland Opera, you will be assigned a portfolio of Opera patrons, with primary emphasis on corporate and group sales and in-kind partnerships, and you will be empowered to provide them with exceptional concierge-style service.
You will also work directly with the Patron Services Manager to set and meet annual group and corporate sales and subscriber retention goals, develop and execute a detailed plan for contacting portfolio patrons, and assume responsibilities as needed for defined group sales campaigns.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- High quality sales, account management and customer service experience
- Professional demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Positive, collaborative team approach to work
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and database management software
The ideal candidate will also possess the following:
- A background in corporate/group sales and account management
- Experience developing and managing in-kind partnerships
- Box Office and/or telemarketing experience
- A working knowledge of Ticketmaster or other integrated fundraising/ticketing system
