Portland Opera To Go presents The Magic Flute

Slay the Dragon, rescue the Princess, and find True Love–all in under an hour–with Portland Opera To Go!

This season, Portland Opera To Go is hitting the road with our beautiful, storybook adaptation of Mozart’s The Magic Flute. Full of action, humor, true love and hard-won triumphs, The Magic Flute is a tale of young people grappling with growing up and taking responsibility for themselves and their convictions—all wrapped up in Mozart’s gorgeous music. From the vocal fireworks of the Queen of the Night, to the profundity of the wise Sarastro, to the simple directness of Papageno, The Magic Flute is sure to entrance audiences of all ages.

Each year, Portland Opera To Go travels throughout Oregon and SW Washington schools and community venues with a full-staged 50 minute, English-language adaptation of a famous opera. All of our productions include an extensive curriculum packet aligned with the Common Core Standards. To bring this production to your school, contact Alexis Hamilton at ahamilton@portlandopera.org.

Want to introduce the exciting world of opera to someone you love? We have a number of public performances at venues throughout Oregon so your family can catch the magic!
