Describe what you do for Portland Opera

I secure and manage grants from government funders, private foundations, and corporate sources, in support of our opera productions, arts education and community-based programs, and general operations. I also support our advocacy work by identifying opportunities, doing research, and crafting messaging.

What music/book/movie/show/poem/place/moment is currently inspiring you?

Ted Lasso. It took me a while to finally watch it, but it truly is a gem -- heartfelt and hilarious. I love how the female friendships are portrayed, the very real and compassionate way it depicts mental health struggles, anything Hannah Waddingham does, the scores of cultural references, and of course, Roy Kent!

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A gymnast, a teacher, a foreign correspondent, a novelist, UN Secretary General

In my free time, you can usually find me...

Exploring with my son, reading, knitting and sewing, bingeing "The West Wing" yet again.

What is your favorite Portland coffee shop?

Crema, on SE 28th and Ankeny. I usually get a London Fog. It's a great spot to catch up with a friend or to meet and go for a walk at Laurelhurst Park.

What is your favorite season?

Autumn. It's simply a beautiful time to be here and see the state. I'm a true Pacific Northwesterner, so I'm not fully comfortable unless I need to bring a sweater wherever I go.
