Describe what you do for Portland Opera

I get to work closely with the marketing team and the External Affairs department to coordinate email communications, website content, and support digital, direct mail, and social media campaigns as well as events and publications. I also provide in-house photography, videography, and graphic design assets when needed.

Have you been a volunteer, served on a board of directors, or contributed to other community organizations that you’re passionate about? If so, please share it here.

Yes, I served 3 terms on the board of directors for Women in Film Portland and spent my final year as Board President in 2015. It was challenging but I loved supporting equity in the film and video production industry and am proud of what we were able to accomplish.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A painter. I always wanted to become a fine artist, live a rock n' roll bohemian lifestyle, and travel the world.

In my free time, you can usually find me...

Baking bread and Hungarian treats, gardening in my community plot, showering my cat with treats, and watching too many movies.

What is your favorite Portland Opera memory?

When I started the job in 2014, Alexis Hamilton (Manager of Education & Community Engagement) and the Production Coordinator at the time Liz Spottswood used to organize casual lunchtime opera 101 gatherings on the 3rd floor balcony during the summer. Alexis would tell us all about the upcoming productions, offer her thoughtful insights, and respond to our questions, all while we enjoyed our lunch. As someone new to the company, someone without a formal background in opera or classical music, this was an extremely enjoyable way to get to know folks and learn more about the art form.

What's your favorite Portland coffee shop, brewery, cidery, or winery?

For coffee shops it depends on my mood but I love See See Motor Coffee, Kopi Coffee (their cardamom latte is to die for...), and of course Tiny's Coffee was my original favorite when I first moved to Portland and they have a special place in my heart.
