Describe what you do for Portland Opera
I work with all the talented people involved - conductors, directors, designers, singers, technicians, artistic staff, technical staff - to create opera productions and events. It takes a lot of people, and I help coordinate all their creative endeavors.
What music/book/movie/show/poem/place/moment is currently inspiring you?
Philip Glass' opera Akhnaten.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was a child, a veterinarian, but then when I was still young, a stage manager.
In my free time, you can usually find me...
Working on my next house project.
What is your favorite Portland Opera memory?
So many to chose from. A very recent one would be the first time we ran the final scene of Faust musically, at the Sitzprobe, in 2018, with the chorus in the house, the full orchestra in the pit, the organ from backstage, and the trio of principals onstage. Glorious music and drama that can only happen in the world of opera.
