Portland Opera is thrilled to announce the artists who will join the 2018/19 season Resident Artist program: returning soprano Helen Huang, mezzo-soprano Camille Sherman, returning tenor Thomas Cilluffo, and baritone Geoffrey Schellenberg. Established in 2005, the Portland Opera Resident Artist Program provides a bridge from the music conservatory world to the professional opera stage. Each year, over 300 singers apply for this highly respected two-year residency and training program.
The Resident Artists give a series of community performances and perform roles in Portland Opera’s productions throughout the season. They also perform solo recitals at Portland Art Museum’s Whitsell Auditorium. Portland Opera Chorus Master and Assistant Conductor Nicholas Fox is the pianist for all recitals. These recitals are free and open to the public.
