Describe your role with Portland Opera

I've sung with Portland Opera with Opera a la Cart and in the chorus since 2016. I've gotten to perform all over the metro area at parks, festivals, wineries, on the Streetcar, on the Balcony at the Hampton Opera Center, and on KGW once for a promo!

What music/book/movie/show/poem/place/moment is currently inspiring you?

Schitt's Creek. I have a small collection of masks that are starting to resemble Moira's wig wall.

In my free time, you can usually find me...

Managing our Opera on Tap PDX chapter, enjoying the PNW's amazing food & beer scene, or listening to Jonathan Van Ness' podcast Getting Curious.

What has your favorite quarantine activity been?

Connecting with my friends and family. I miss in-person hangouts, but I'm grateful that technology allows us to meet safely and remotely. I have a couple weekly hangouts online that have been lifesavers this year. I'm very much looking forward to hugging my favorite humans again.

What is your favorite Portland Opera memory?

The Carmen Chorus Singalong at Remy Wines! When the winery opened their beautiful farmhouse, Opera a la Cart was invited to perform. I taught the guests an easy version of the chorus part in Carmen's Habanera, and Remy said she could check off her bucket list wish of singing with Portland Opera. It's so fun; I think everyone secretly wants to sing opera.
