I wanted to be a civil rights lawyer.

What is your favorite Portland Opera memory?

Falstaff production; very musically fulfilling experience despite tricky violin part!

What's your favorite Portland coffee shop, brewery, cidery, or winery?

Elephants Delicatessen in Lake Oswego or downtown Portland.

Do you have hike/park/scenic view in Oregon that inspires you?

When I need to regain my energy or get inspired, I drive to magical Cannon Beach.

What's your favorite season in Portland/why?

Summer. Not too hot, not dry, long bright days with beautiful sunshine and light wind breeze is just perfect.

Do you have a favorite local visual artist/musician/filmmaker/performer that you think everyone should know about?

Portland Opera, Oregon Symphony for world opera and orchestral repertoire; Portland Art Museum hosts great exhibitions from all over the world.

What's your favorite bike path/greenway/route in Portland?

I don’t bike..( maybe I should!)

What is the most interesting/unusual job you've ever had?

I was a second (“helper”) manager for my aunt’s French cuisine restaurant in my hometown, Almaty in Kazakhstan when I was 18 y o for one summer. It was my first real adult world job that gave me independence feeling that I loved.
