Describe what you do for Portland Opera?
You can think of me as an offstage conductor who helps keep the lights on and the payroll paid to allow the opera to stay loud, dramatic, exquisite, and solvent.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to open and operate my own potato chip factory. I still have an unhealthy relationship with savory snacks, especially chips.

What's your favorite season in Portland/why?
Autumn. The decent foliage, the crisp air, and the many pumpkin patches and small family farms all contribute to it being my favorite time of the year to get outdoors.
