FISCAL GOALS  

• The campaign kicked off at the beginning of March. 2026. 

• We hope to raise a total of $5 million dollars.  

• Our first goal was to raise $1.5M by the end of June 2026 to be able to announce our 26/27 season. We met that goal early and were able to announce on May 16th. 

• Every dollar matters. We need broad individual support and new leadership donors. Portland Opera needs you more than ever.   
• Without community support, Portland Opera may be forced to take its final bow.   

ARTISTIC VISION 

Portland Opera believes that opera is for everyone. The slogan “You Belong at Portland Opera” speaks to the inclusivity and diversity of our patrons. We believe in representation on the stage and behind the scenes. And we believe that our entire community should be afforded the opera experience.  

NATIONAL LANDSCAPE 

We are in a national crisis in the performing arts, and the artform of Opera is at a critical juncture. Production costs are rising, ticket sales have yet to return to pre-pandemic levels, and companies across the country are at risk of closing.

This campaign secures the future of opera in Portland.  By the campaign's close, Portland Opera will be positioned for long-term sustainability, earned-revenue growth, and financial stability.   

WHAT DOES PORTLAND OPERA MEAN TO THE COMMUNITY?  

Without Portland Opera, the existence of the entire local opera ecosystem may be in peril. We sustain the livelihoods of local artists who in turn gain the financial security they need to perform with other local arts organizations
