The role reports to the General Director and is responsible for all aspects of planning, implementing, measuring, and evaluating all marketing, public relations, publications, and brand activities in support of Portland Opera’s mission, productions, and events.
ARE YOU PASSIONATE AND INTRIGUED BY?
- Managing and providing leadership to the Marketing & Communications Staff
- Developing a vision for Portland Opera’s marketing and sales efforts
- Creating and implementing audience development marketing plans
- Developing and executing a comprehensive media communications plan
- Building and cultivating relationships with industry leaders, board members, media, government officials, key business partners, promotional partners, performing arts organizations, and community leaders
- Preparing department budgets
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marketing, sales, and/or public relations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with operatic repertoire and the entertainment industry
- Working knowledge of Tessitura and database management
