Describe your role with Portland Opera

I have been in the tenor section since 1975.

What music/book/movie/show/poem/place/moment is currently inspiring you?

A novel set in South Africa at the outset of WWII - The Power of One by Bryce Courtney - is about a young boy sent off to boarding school.  It deals with his coming of age and learning to defend himself against bullies.  The writing brings to life the characters and many different situations that makes the reader laugh, cry and wish the story would not end.

What has your favorite quarantine activity been?

I have been safely taking voice lessons from a very close friend.  Having an objective teacher listening for ways to improve my technique has been most appreciated.  It has been an excuse to drive in to Portland and keep track of the many changes as buildings keep popping up, especially on S.E. Division.
