Describe your role with Portland Opera
My role as a section violinist in the orchestra is to play my part and to be a good team member.
Preparation, knowledge, skill, flexibility, and experience all go into this. Oh, and a sense of humor! And a love of music and music making! I have been involved with Portland Opera for many years, first in the early 1980s and then from 2002 to present.
What music/book/movie/show/poem/place/moment is currently inspiring you?
What inspires me these days is watching the sunrise - seeing the changing light and color across the sky and landscape as the sun makes its first appearance.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was young, I wanted to be a professional violinist. I even wrote a paper about it in the sixth grade. Music moved my soul then as it does now.
