Portland Opera’s administrative offices, costume shop, rehearsal spaces, performance venue, and Broadway in Portland administrative office are all located in the World Trade Center.

The World Trade Center Theatre is a 190-seat venue where you won't miss a moment of up-close live performance.

Accessing the Theatre

World Trade Center Theatre is located at Skybridge level of WTC 2 on SW Salmon St between Naito Parkway and 1st Ave. It is best accessed via elevator to BR level from the underground parking garage, as well as via escalators located in WTC 1 right next to Elephants Deli, and WTC 3 next to POA Costume Shop.

Parking

Parking at World Trade Center 2 can be tricky but, street parking is available (metered until 7pm) in addition to several parking garages in the area. Best access to the building is from the NW-WTC Parking garage under the building itself at 56 SW Taylor St, accessed from Naito Parkway. Additional parking garages close by are Standard Center Garage at 920 SW 4th Ave and SmartPark 4th and Yamhill.

Ride Share Drop Zone

If you plan to take an Uber or Lyft to your WTC opera experience, please enter 121 SW Salmon St as destination. This will place your driver in a low traffic pick up/drop off zone on SW Salmon directly next to WTC 2.

Public Transit

Leave the car at home, treat yourself to that extra glass of wine, and hop on one of Portland’s many public transit options to get you to the show. WTC 2 is only 2 blocks away from MAX Red/Blue lines and a 5-minute walk from Keller Auditorium.

Go by Bike

Go green and get a workout on your way to the opera! Limited bike parking can be found on SW Salmon outside of Elephants’ Deli. Also, you’ll find a Nike Biketown rental station conveniently located on SW Salmon (designated as Waterfront Park) adjacent to WTC 2.

Accessibility

Mobility Access

World Trade Center Theatre has accessible ramped entrance, leading to an elevator up to the venue, as well as wheelchair and companion seating options in the Auditorium. The ramp can be accessed from Naito Parkway or SW Salmon St. There is also an all-gender single stall accessible restroom.

Captions

For patrons who are deaf or hard of hearing, each performance includes live English captions projected on either side of the stage.

Interpreted Performances 

We are proud to partner with the Collective of Audio Describers in Arts (CADA for short) to provide a live audio description of the visual and physical events on stage for patrons who have low vision, are visually impaired, or blind. Sunday matinee performances are interpreted. Headsets are available at our Box Office and can be checked out free of charge.  

Please note that Portland Opera does not typically offer ASL Interpreted performances.  

Food & beverage

Beverages purchased in the lobby of World Trade Center Theatre can be enjoyed inside the theatre during this performance with a lid. Cheers!

Photo Opportunities & Policy

Take a selfie at the opera! In our new artistic home, we will have photo backdrops set up either in the lobby or on the SkyBridge, and volunteers standing by to capture your fabulous outfit. Tag us @portlandopera and share your photos with hashtag #pdxopera.

Please note that photos and cell phone use inside the auditorium during performances is disruptive and prohibited.

Late seating policy

We are often not able to offer late seating or re-entry at Portland Opera performances. At the direction and discretion of the House Manager, late patrons may be seated in designated areas until it’s possible to return to their tickets seats. Read our full policies to learn more.

About

Designed in 1976 and completed by 1982, World Trade Center 2 has had multiple lives, from a PGE Cafeteria to a conference center, and now an artistic home for Portland Opera.
