Job Opening | Facility Manager
Portland Opera seeks self-managed Facility Manager (FM) to oversee repair and maintenance of The Hampton Opera Center 20 hours per week. Performs inspections of building and mechanical systems, performs R&M duties and/or directs vendors; recommends repairs and capital improvements to management.
The Facility Manager reports directly to the Systems and Operations manager, and regularly interfaces w/staff, tenants, volunteers, artists and patrons.
Must have a strong sense of customer service and teamwork, solid problem-solving, equipment operation, inventory & math skills typically required to perform these duties. Basic computer competency required. Minimum of 3 yrs of similar F/T experience in commercial or institutional setting, Handyman level skills in painting, plumbing, carpentry, floor and landscape maintenance. Ability to manage overall building plant systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, security, etc.). Limited journeyman electrician license helpful.
