Have you been a volunteer, served on a board of directors, or contributed to other community organizations that you’re passionate about? If so, please share it here.
These past few years, I've enjoyed supporting (via donations and attending concerts) Bridging Voices, which is a queer youth choir in Portland, OR. I also enjoy the work of the Historic Music Preservation Project which presents the Ne Plus Ultra Jass Orchestra, whom I get to sing with sometimes.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
At first, I wanted to be a veterinarian, and then later I wanted to be a singer.
In my free time, you can usually find me...

When I'm not working as a Nurse Practitioner or singing with Portland Opera, I'm often taking care of my houseplants, backyard ducks, and finches; traveling; or singing at a piano bar, cabaret, or in the Tritone Trio with the Ne Plus Ultra Jass Orchestra.

What is your favorite Portland Opera memory?

So many memories! A few highlights for me would be Candide, several productions of Carmen, and we were doing a double-bill production of Pagliacci and Carmina Burana right when I was taking my board exam for nursing school, so that really stands out in my memory!

What's your favorite Portland coffee shop, brewery, cidery, or winery?
I'm not a coffee or alcohol person, so...my favorite pastry shops would be Petunia's Pies and Pastries, Lauretta Jean's, An Xuyen Bakery, VilleVelo Bake Shop, and Bella's Italian Bakery
Do you have hike/park/scenic view in Oregon that inspires you?
I enjoy Washington Park and the Hoyt Arboretum. Powell Butte also has some really nice views on a sunny day.
What's your favorite season in Portland/why?
Even though it's rainy, I enjoy spring, because everything gets so green, and everything starts blossoming.
Do you have a favorite local visual artist/musician/filmmaker/performer that you think everyone should know about?
One of my favorite visual artists in Portland is Simran Gleason who often attends local music performances and paints portraits of the performers during the concert. As far as musical performers, I think that all of the members of the Portland Opera Chorus are pretty amazing, and most of the members have a variety of singing engagements in Oregon and beyond.
What's your favorite bike path/greenway/route in Portland?
Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge is an amazing place to walk around to see all sorts of wildlife.
What is the most interesting/unusual job you've ever had?

The most interesting job title was "music therapist" where I was working with older adults at a day program. The most unusual job was distributing tone alert radios in Umatilla County so that if there was a chemical/gas leak at the Umatilla Army Depot (that had chemical stockpiles since WW2), residents would be alerted via the special radios.
